About museum
The 'Aldyn Doshka' stelae gallery was opened in August 2020 and serves as a venue for presenting archaeological monuments from the collections of the Tuva Museum. It displays 44 statuary monuments dating from the Bronze Age to the Mongol period. The history of Tuva's archaeological monuments begins in the 17th century, and their study was organized in 1916. Visitors to the gallery can learn about Tuva's ancient and medieval history as represented in archaeological collections from the Stone and Early Metal Ages, as well as from the Scythian and Xiongnu–Xianbei periods. On display are slabs with petroglyphs, deer stones, stone sculptures, statuary monuments from Mongol sites, clay vessels, ceramic fragments, massive bronze knives, axes, various arrowheads, elements of horse harness, ritual bronze mirrors, and much more.
