Solovetsky State Historical-Architectural and Natural Museum-Reserve
About museum
Solovetsky Museum-Reserve is one of the northernmost museums in Russia, located on the Solovetsky Archipelago in the White Sea, 170 km from the Arctic Circle. It was established in 1967 and included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1992. In 1995 the Solovetsky State Museum-Reserve was added to the State Register of Particularly Valuable Objects of the Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of the Russian Federation. Its island location, the archipelago's centuries-old history, and contemporary efforts to find development paths determine the features, directions and forms of the museum's work. The museum holds over 1,000 cultural heritage objects dating from the 5th millennium BC to the 20th century. Tours and exhibitions of the Solovetsky Museum-Reserve invite visitors to learn about the history and spiritual culture of the Solovetsky Archipelago, admire its remarkable nature, experience key events and discover new horizons. The Solovetsky Museum-Reserve welcomes cooperation!
