Ostrov Local History Museum
About museum
The museum was opened in 1965 and later became a branch of the Pskov Museum-Reserve. In the summer of 2001 a new building opened an exhibition focusing on a collection of Russian and captured weapons from the Great Patriotic War. The museum presents displays dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War, as well as to the history of the town of Ostrov in the 18th–19th centuries, the fortress, the local natural environment, a collection of samovars and tea ware, television and radio equipment, and automotive and motorcycle technology. The museum also offers general guided tours of Ostrov.
