About museum
Museum attracts interest not only from local residents but also from tourists. The Novoselitsky Historical and Local History Museum is a notable attraction of Stavropol Krai. The idea of its creation belongs to honorary citizen and distinguished public figure M. S. Mamontov, who for many years collected antiques and historical documents. At the beginning of the 20th century the museum building housed the almshouse of the Alexander Nevsky Church. In the late 1980s part of the collection was placed in the local school. In 2007 the museum was officially opened. Today the museum's general collection comprises over 1,400 items. Among them are Tula samovars, irons, peasant farming tools, as well as handicrafts made by local residents from various periods. The museum attracts attention not only from local residents but also from tourists.
