New Tretyakov Gallery
About museum
The Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val houses the only permanent exhibition of Russian 20th-century art in Russia. It features works by masters of the early Russian avant-garde, socialist realism, artists of the "severe style", as well as representatives of the "underground". The exhibition is completed by a collection of works from the 1980s–1990s, which is constantly being supplemented with new pieces. In addition, the Gallery regularly hosts exhibitions of classical and contemporary art by domestic and foreign artists. Since 2002, a Children's Creative Workshop has been operating here, where children can get acquainted with the experimental ideas of 20th-century artists. There is always something interesting and informative to discover at the Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val.
