Nizhnegorsky Historical and Local History Museum
About museum
On July 5, 1988, Nikolay Alekseyevich Ryzhikh founded the Nizhnegorsky Historical and Local History Museum. In 2015 it was reorganized as the Municipal State Cultural Institution 'Nizhnegorsky Historical and Local History Museum'. The museum has two halls. The first displays archaeological monuments of antiquity, as well as household and industrial items from the Middle Ages and the Great October Socialist Revolution. The second hall contains documents, photographs and items related to the Great Patriotic War and the war in Afghanistan, as well as paintings by Western and Soviet artists. The museum has more than 1,500 exhibits, of which 1,200 are part of the main collection and 350 are in the auxiliary collection.
