About museum
In 1967, the Matveev Museum was established on the basis of the Matveevskaya secondary school, with Klavdiya Andreevna Bannikova appointed as its director. During her tenure, a large number of museum exhibits and local history materials were collected, confirming the need to open a historical and local-history museum. On November 13, 1992, the museum was officially opened; its first director was Aleksandr Vasilievich Solodovnikov. Today the museum performs a number of important socio-cultural functions, and its collection consists of more than 10,000 items, including a unique collection of ceramic ware from the late 19th century and a rich numismatic collection of over 4,000 items.
