Yazykov Estate Museum Complex
About museum
In 1993, a branch of the Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after I. A. Goncharov — the "Yazykov Estate" museum — was opened in the village of Yazykovo. In 2003 it was moved to a building located on the estate grounds, and a new exhibition was opened. The permanent exhibition includes sections reflecting the history of the village of Yazykovo, the contribution of members of the Yazykov noble family of Simbirsk to the cultural and public life of Simbirsk Governorate in the first half of the 19th century, as well as A. S. Pushkin's visit to the estate in 1833. The exhibition also includes sections devoted to the estate's last owner, M. F. Stepanov, and the stage career of his wife, the singer N. O. Stepanova-Shchevchenko, as well as the history of the Yazykov woolen factory in the 19th–20th centuries.
