About museum
The Panfilovo Rural Art Gallery is the only place in the Vladimir Region where works by Russian artists can be seen in a permanent exhibition. In 1985, natives of the village of Panfilovo — professional artists S. I. Chirkov, I. V. Beschastnov, and V. V. Serov — with the support of local, district and regional authorities and the Union Ministry of Culture, established the Panfilovo Rural Art Gallery. Over decades of a complex restoration process led by Honored Artist of Russia S. I. Chirkov, more than 300 exhibits were collected, including paintings, sculpture and works on paper. The gallery's collections include works by natives of the village, members of the Union of Artists of the USSR, Honored Artists of Russia, and artists from Murom and Vladimir, donated to the residents of Panfilovo. The exhibition represents the period of Russian Soviet art (second half of the 20th century). The gallery is a unique place to see works related to the history and culture of the village of Panfilovo.
