Sudak Fortress is one of the most striking architectural landmarks of Crimea. It embodies historical integrity and uniqueness, as there are no modern buildings within it. Sudak Fortress is of international significance and attracts tourists wishing to learn more about Crimea's past. On the fortress grounds one can see defensive walls, towers, castles, mosques, churches, remnants of urban development and a seaside fortification built during the period of Genoese presence. The museum covers an area of 29.5 hectares. All these structures have been subject to conservation and reflect the architectural motifs and techniques of Western European fortification construction.
