About museum
The N. I. Kornilov Art Gallery is located in the very center of the town of Petushki, near the central Sovetskaya Square and the Rooster Museum, in a three-story building of the former boarding school built in 1958. The gallery houses a collection of graphic and pictorial works collected and donated to the gallery's fund by N. I. Kornilov from artists of the former Soviet Union (over 400 works). Among them are works by T. Vavrzhina, V. Kazarin, A. Yaguzhinskaya, L. Dyakonitsyn, S. Mosalygin, V. Stepashkin, A. Ovchukov-Suvorov, and others. Visitors can use the exhibition hall, where the displays change monthly; evenings of classical music are organized, as well as meetings with artists and master classes in various creative disciplines (wood carving, dry felting from wool, traditional folk dolls, making decorative postcards, satin ribbon embroidery, etc.). Here you can not only get acquainted with the work of local authors but also purchase paintings, graphic works, handicrafts by folk artisans, printed materials, and more.
