About museum
The Museum of the Family of Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich Romanov in the village of Ostashyevo is housed in the building of the former two-class school, built in 1916 in memory of Oleg Konstantinovich Romanov, who died at the very beginning of World War I. The museification and restoration were carried out by the Foundation of the Elisavetinsko–Sergiev Enlightenment Society with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the administration of the Volokolamsk Urban District.
The exhibition is dedicated to the philanthropic and public-service activities of the Grand Ducal family of the Konstantinoviches, their patronage of charity and public institutions of science and the arts, the traditions of upbringing and education within the Grand Ducal family, the history of the Ostashyevo estate, the military valor of the sons of Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich, as well as the fate of his descendants after 1917.
