Shigabutdin Marjani Museum
About museum
In 1818, in the village of Epanchino (Yabynchy) in the Atninsky District, the well-known religious figure, historian, philosopher, enlightener and educator Shigabutdin Marjani was born. In 1992 research into his life and activities began, and exhibits for the creation of the museum were collected with the help of Marjani's great-granddaughters and specialists from the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan. In 2000 a memorial museum of Sh. Marjani was established, and since 2010 it has been a branch of the Atninsky District Local History Museum. In 2014 two rooms in the building of the Komorguzinskaya Secondary School named after Sh. Marjani were renovated for the museum. It consists of two exhibition halls showcasing the life of the khazrat and his period in Kazan. The museum hosts various cultural and educational events: classes, lectures, meetings, exhibitions, and talks using presentations, films and animated films.
