About museum

Azov is home to the only museum in Russia dedicated to Arctic and Antarctic researcher Rudolf Lazarevich Samoylovich. It is located in the house where his family once lived. The museum's exhibition includes a memorial room of a pupil of the Azov progymnasium, where the late 19th–early 20th century interior has been recreated with original photographs, objects, personal belongings, and rare archival finds. The museum also presents artistic compositions and visual materials reflecting the results of Samoylovich's outstanding scientific research activities.
