Museum of the First Flight
About museum
On April 7, 2011 the Museum of the First Human Spaceflight was opened. The first hall displays items related to the flight: the carrier rocket engine, a pressure (barometric) chamber, the flight control panel and other exhibits. The second hall presents GIRD rockets, the simulators on which cosmonauts trained, an ejection seat with a parachute, instruments, S. P. Korolev's desk with documents and more. At the center is the interactive "Earth–Space" system, where visitors can follow the flight path of the Vostok spacecraft and participate via computer. All of this provides an understanding of the preparation for and the execution of the first human spaceflight.
