Insects of the World Museum
About museum
On October 10, 2021, a new museum — 'Insects of the World' — opened in Armavir. It was created from a private collection that began to be assembled in the early 2000s. The museum features butterflies from around the world, as well as beetles, scorpions, spiders and other insects — about 5,000 specimens. Some live for 5 to 7 days, others are almost never found in the wild, and some are listed in the Red Book. The collection also includes rare specimens, such as blues (Lycaenidae), golden birdwing butterflies, Attacus (Atlas) moths and valuable butterflies. The museum has an insectarium where visitors can observe the emergence of butterflies.
