Model Museum "Petrovskaya Aquatoria"
About museum
This is an unforgettable journey to the era of Peter I and Catherine the Great.
At the "Petrovskaya Aquatoria" model museum you can visit the most important sights of Saint Petersburg and its suburbs as they appeared in the first half of the 18th century. The museum features a reconstruction of the Neva River's water area and the Gulf of Finland, on which models of ships from the Petrine era sail. The exhibition depicts the architecture and landscapes of that time, as well as historical events and everyday scenes. Both reconstructed and irretrievably lost architectural objects of the original Saint Petersburg are recreated and preserved here. Visitors are given the opportunity to control the movement of characters, carriages, and ships, as well as to change the seasons and time of day. A visit to the museum offers an unforgettable journey to the era of Peter I and Catherine the Great.
