The N.K. Roerich Museum in Novosibirsk is the first museum in Siberia dedicated to the life and work of Nikolai Konstantinovich Roerich and the entire Roerich family. The museum was founded by Natalia Dmitrievna Spirina, a second-generation pupil of Roerich who arrived in the USSR from China in 1959. The museum was built by the "people's construction" method with donations from about 50,000 individuals and 869 enterprises and organizations. Currently the museum belongs to the Siberian Roerich Society and has public status. Its collections include items that belonged to members of the Roerich family and their followers B. N. Abramov and N. D. Spirina.
