The Kazan Icon Museum is a place where icons gilded in gold over a hundred years ago in the workshop of the Bogoroditsky Monastery of Kazan, one of the oldest and most renowned in the Middle Volga region, are collected. It is located near the Kazan Kremlin and the Kazan Bogoroditsky Monastery in the former city head's house, built in the 1840s. Here you can see Kazan icons of the Mother of God modeled on the miraculous Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The museum also displays copies of various miraculous and venerated icons connected with the history of the Kazan region. The museum is equipped with modern museum and multimedia equipment that allows any visitor to organize a self-guided tour, view the icons alone, or learn more about their history.
