About museum
The Roerich Museum is a branch of the State Museum of the Orient, located in a historical monument of the 17th–19th centuries — the Lopukhin Estate. It was established in February 2016 by decision of the Collegium of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation in accordance with the will of S. N. Roerich. The museum displays more than 800 works by well-known artists, as well as a collection of decorative and applied arts assembled by the Roerich family during their stay in the Kulu Valley in northern India. The museum regularly holds guided tours and lectures on art history and Roerich studies, and also organizes cooperation with various public organizations of the Roerich movement.
