The Museum of the History of the Old Believers of the Kazan-Vyatka Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Old-Rite Church was established in 2020 with the assistance of the Republic of Tatarstan.

\r\nThe museum's exhibition includes sections that tell about the history of the schism, the early history of the Old Believers, Kazan merchants, patrons, necropolises and shrines of Kazan, the emergence of Old Believer churches in Kazan, liturgical books, the Old Believer manuscript tradition, znamenny chant and icon painting.

\r\nThe creation of the Museum of the History of the Old Believers was carried out as part of the restoration of the cathedral complex of the Kazan-Vyatka Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Old-Rite Church (RPSC) and the revival of the Old Believer historic area of Sukonnaya Sloboda in Kazan.

\r\nSpecialists from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kazan specializing in icon painting, early printed books and the history of the Old Believers in the Kazan region were involved in the development of the museum project. Personal participation in the implementation was provided by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan R. N. Minnikhanov and Metropolitan Korniliy (K. I. Titov), Metropolitan of Moscow and All Russia — the primate of the RPSC.
