Shakhmaykino Village History Museum named after Mirhaydar Faizi
About museum
Officially the museum opened as a branch of the “Museum of Folk Art and Life” on August 3, 2015.
The museum is named after the classic of Tatar dramaturgy Mirhaydar Faizi. The playwright himself visited here several times; he loved and respected his father’s and grandfather’s native village very much, as he wrote in his letters and memoirs. Two halls operate on the second floor of the museum. The first hall exhibits portraits, photographs of the Faizullin family, personal belongings, and documents from their family archive. The second hall houses exhibits — household items, metal and wooden tools, samples of patterned weaving (towels, tablecloths), tambour embroidery (prayer rugs — namazlyks). The first floor, which housed the rural settlement administration until 2018, has also been transferred to the museum. Exhibitions on the history of the village are being reconstructed there. The museum serves as the village’s cultural and educational center. Meetings, memorial evenings, and mejlises with various segments of the population are held here. For the younger generation, master classes, quest games, and educational talks are organized.
