Sinegorsk Village History Museum

About museum

The museum was founded in 2002 at the initiative of Yu. A. Vakulenko and V. K. Minenko together with students of the Sinegorsk school and the children's historical and ethnographic club "Heritage". The museum's director is Minenko Valentina Konstantinovna. The museum features sections such as "Room of the Japanese residents of Kawakami", "Agricultural tools of the Japanese and Koreans", "Industrial tools used by miners", "Ceramics from the Karafuto period", "Bronze items from the Karafuto period", "Room of Russian settlers", "Household items from the Soviet period (1950s–1970s)", "Soviet-era ceramics (20th century)", "Wonderful School Years", "History and development of the school in Sinegorsk", "The only verified dinosaur find on Sakhalin", "Sakhalin Coal", "Workdays and holidays of the mining settlement", "The settlement and its times", "Local front-line veterans" and "History, heroism, memory".
