About museum
In the history of education in Izh-Bobya, the School History Museum has occupied an important place for more than 25 years. It was established in the late 1980s at the initiative of the director of the Izh-Bobya Secondary School, R. M. Garaev, and veteran teacher R. A. Khaliullina. In 2011 it became Branch No. 2 of the Museum of History and Cultural Heritage of the Agryz Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan, and in 2016, by personal directive of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan R. N. Minnikhanov, a decision was made to restore the house-museum of first-guild merchant Mukhamedzhan Akhmedzhanov. The ceremonial opening of the house-museum took place on August 19, 2021. It presents exhibitions dedicated to the Izh-Bubi madrasa, the everyday life of the Mari and Tatar peoples, the merchant class of Izh-Bobya, and the participation of Izh-Bobya residents in the Great Patriotic War. The museum's collection consists of more than a thousand items, including ethnographic and household objects, numismatics, archaeological finds, documents, and photographs. Various events are also held, including themed and general tours of the museum and the village's sights.
