Ulan-Ude City History Museum
About museum
The Ulan-Ude City History Museum was established on December 10, 1999, and serves as a place for preserving and promoting the city's history, as well as supporting and developing the creative process. It combines historical exhibits, visual and informational interaction with visitors, an educational environment, creative classes and projects. Special attention is given to youth initiatives. In 2011 a museum film yard was opened — an independent venue where visitors can watch films of various genres. In 2017 the museum was awarded a diploma by the International Review-Competition of Urban Practices of CIS and EAEU cities for organizing the film yard, and also received a grant from the Government of the Republic of Buryatia to implement the "Territoriya SEMA" project. In 2018 the Museum participated in a competition for improving the urban environment and won 2nd place. The "Territoriya SEMA" project continues to be implemented, providing residents and tourists with a recreation area and a platform for self-expression at various events.
