About museum

In 1995, a year after the death of Boris Yakovlevich Ryauzov, a decree was signed establishing the municipal cultural institution “Museum of the Artist B. Ya. Ryauzov”. It was located in a 1950s building in the city center, next to the regional administration of Krasnoyarsk Krai. On April 21, 2005, the museum was officially opened for the 60th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Boris Yakovlevich Ryauzov's work earned the love of his fellow countrymen and the recognition of professionals. He was the first among Krasnoyarsk painters to be awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR and the first to be elected a full member of the USSR Academy of Arts. His works are held in more than 65 museums of the former USSR and in private collections in Russia, China, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, and elsewhere. B. Ya. Ryauzov's work is popular with art historians, and the Museum of the Artist B. Ya. Ryauzov serves as an exhibition venue for practicing artists and current exhibition projects.
