Museum 'City Duma'
About museum
The building of the Tyumen Regional Museum of Local History 'City Duma' is an excellent example of 19th-century Russian provincial architecture. Its design features a grand staircase, a stepped attic, a Corinthian portico and massive columns. The museum houses the exhibition 'Window to Nature', which introduces visitors to the diversity of flora and fauna of the Tyumen Region. In addition, there is a small paleontological museum with a collection of complete skeletons of a mammoth, an extinct bison, a woolly rhinoceros and a cave bear. The museum also displays botanical, zoological and entomological collections. There are two exhibition halls where visitors can view items from the museum complex's collections and from other museums in Russia, as well as from private collections. The variety of exhibitions attracts visitors of all ages.
