Museum of Amet-Khan Sultan, Twice Hero of the Soviet Union

In Alupka, the hometown of Twice Hero of the Soviet Union and honored test pilot Amet-Khan Sultan, there is a museum named after him. It was opened in 1993 in the Alupka City House of Culture, and in 2005 repair and restoration work was carried out there under the Program for the improvement and socio-cultural development of deported citizens in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Currently the museum has an exhibition hall, an exhibition room and a conference hall. It displays personal belongings, documents, aircraft models, photographs of the legendary ace, as well as of other heroes and participants of the Great Patriotic War. The museum's main activities are the collection, study and preservation of information, photographs, documents and other items related to the name of Amet-Khan Sultan, as well as the promotion of the life, combat path and postwar activities of other participants of the Great Patriotic War.
