Art Deco Museum
About museum
On December 19, 2014, the Moscow Art Deco Museum opened its doors to visitors. At the heart of its exhibition is the collection of Mkrtich Okroyan, which includes more than 900 works in bronze and ivory from the 1920s–1930s. Among them are some of the most striking pieces by Demetre Chiparus and other masters, as well as decorative panels, furniture, and other objects. A separate highlight of the exhibition is a large panel by Pierre Bobo that once adorned the Roseland Ballroom in New York. Together with works by Jean Dunand, Francois-Louis Schmied and other artists, as well as pieces by Edgar Brandt and figurines with musical instruments from Ancient Egypt to 1920s jazz, the Art Deco Museum offers visitors a comprehensive historical overview of music.
