A. A. Plastov Museum
About museum
The creative legacy of Arkady Alexandrovich Plastov (1893–1972) — a full member of the USSR Academy of Arts, laureate of the Stalin and Lenin Prizes and the RSFSR State Prize named after I. E. Repin — is the pride and glory of national realistic art. He was closely connected throughout his life with the Volga land, with the Simbirsk–Ulyanovsk region, with Prislonikha — his native village. In 1986 the A. A. Plastov Picture Gallery was opened, but it was closed in the 1990s. From 2008, following an order of the Government of the Ulyanovsk Region, the process of creating the A. A. Plastov Museum began. In 2010 this remarkable place was opened, where original works of the great artist from the 1920s to the early 1970s are exhibited, as well as his personal belongings and household items from Prislonikha. The A. A. Plastov Museum is an ideal place to immerse yourself in the world of A. A. Plastov's creativity.
Today the A. A. Plastov Museum is a wonderful place to immerse yourself in the world of A. A. Plastov's work.
