Memorial Museum-Reserve of the History of Political Repressions 'Perm-36'
About museum
Memorial complex 'Perm-36' is a unique site in the former USSR, established during the GULAG era and existing until the late 1980s. It held particularly dangerous state criminals, including political prisoners. The complex consists of two parts: a strict-regime section with work and residential zones, and a special-regime section. Here you can see 19 objects of regional cultural heritage and a museum-fortress with exhibits, items and documents reflecting the history of the GULAG. This is a place of remembrance of the crimes of the Soviet authorities against their citizens. The complex was closed in 1988. On the site, a museum-fortress has been restored, presenting exhibits, items and documents related to the history of the GULAG. The memorial complex 'Perm-36' has become a place of remembrance of the crimes of the Soviet authorities against their citizens.
