V. P. Chkalov Memorial Museum

The V. P. Chkalov Memorial Museum was opened on July 7, 1940 to commemorate the outstanding aviator and Hero of the Soviet Union Valery Pavlovich Chkalov. It comprises two sites: the memorial house where Chkalov was born and raised, and a hangar-pavilion with a collection of aircraft used by him during his flying career. The house museum displays household items, personal belongings, photographs, documents and exhibits that characterize Valery Chkalov's life and activities. In the hangar you can see the ANT-25, I-16, I-17 and Chkalov's personal PO-2 aircraft, which testify to the development of domestic aviation in the 1930s. Admission tickets for schoolchildren, students and pensioners cost 60 rubles; for adults – 80 rubles. Guided tours for groups of up to 25 people cost 500 rubles.
