Sergey Zverev-Kyyl Uola is a heroic (epic) figure. He is included in the Great Soviet Encyclopedia as a singer, writer, founder of Yakut stage dance culture and an unsurpassed connoisseur of folk art. Thanks to him, the spirit of the national holiday Ysyakh, its rites and customs can be preserved and passed on to future generations. He made an immense impression with his performance of the heroic epic Olonkho, with the beauty and scale of the round dance osuokhai, and with unique methods of traditional throat singing. He helped strengthen the national consciousness of the people during the Soviet era and gave an impetus to the development of traditional culture during the recent Perestroika period.
