S. N. Durylin Memorial House-Museum
About museum
House-museum in Bolshevo (Korolyov district) was built to the design of architect A. V. Shchusev and is one of the most unique houses of the first half of the 20th century. The priest S. N. Durylin lived here — a GITIS professor, theorist of theatre and literature, writer, poet and religious thinker. Famous writers, actors and artists visited this unique house, including M. V. Nesterov, N. A. Obukhova, A. A. Yablochkina, I. V. Ilyinsky, V. I. Kachalov, B. L. Pasternak, S. T. Richter and others. In addition to the house itself, visitors can see a fruit orchard, farm buildings, the churches of Cosmas and Damian and the Transfiguration of the Lord, the buildings of the parish school and an almshouse. The house also contains S. N. Durylin's fine art collection, which includes unique items and personal belongings of M. N. Yermolova, F. I. Chaliapin, N. K. Medtner and others. All of this is a vivid example of traditional dacha development and represents a unique cultural-historical landscape.
