Mechetlinsky Historical and Local History Museum
About museum
On November 7, 1967, S. M. Vaisov established the Mechetlinsky Historical and Local History Museum on the second floor of the wooden House of Pioneers. The museum displayed exhibits on the history of the district, materials about the first communards, and the formation of kolkhozes and sovkhozes. In 1991, due to the demolition of the House of Pioneers building, the museum suspended its activities until 2010, when it was allocated premises in the Arts School building. In 2016 the museum was recognized as a legally independent entity. It consists of three halls: 'Ethnography and Archaeology', 'History and Development of the District in Documents', and the Hall of Military Glory. The museum also houses the only kubyz museum in the Republic of Bashkortostan. It is equipped with a unique collection of kubyzes and similar instruments from peoples around the world, including kubyzes made by a master craftsman. The museum has collected more than 70 of these instruments from 30 countries.
