Makaryev Museum of the Fomin Artists 'Skazka'
About museum
A hundred kilometers from Nizhny Novgorod lies the village of Makaryevo, once known for its fair and its ancient monastery. But these are not the only sights to be found here.
\r\n
\r\nThe private museum of the Fomin artists, "Skazka" ("Fairy Tale"), invites its guests into a world of wonder, art, and history.
\r\n
\r\nIn this local history museum, two artists — father and son Fomin — present a collection of paintings from the early 20th century, wooden sculptures, and unique wire panels. In addition, a museum highlight is an exhibition of late 19th-century photographs, "Makaryev — the Uyezd Town," which allows visitors to trace the history of the town and later the village.
\r\n
\r\nThe museum is located in the village of Makaryevo, Lyskovsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.
\r\nIt is open mainly in the summer from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
\r\nBy prior arrangement, you can visit the museum as a group or at any time convenient for you.
