About museum
29 October 1968 was the founding day of the Lotoshino Local History Museum. It houses more than 2,000 historical exhibits. The museum has three halls: historical, exhibition and military. The historical hall presents exhibits and materials dating from the 18th century to the first half of the 20th century. Here you can learn about the history of the village of Lotoshino, the Meshchersky princes, the ancient village of Mikulino-Gorodishche, the Markov Republic, peasant life and the everyday life of Lotoshino residents during the Soviet era. The exhibition hall features paintings, sculptural portraits, art photography and decorative and applied arts. The military hall's displays tell about the Great Patriotic War and the liberation of the Lotoshinsky District from the Nazi invaders, about local heroes, and also about the soldiers of the 1st Shock and 30th Armies who liberated this land.
