Leshukonsky District Historical and Local Lore Museum is one of the main keepers of the region's historical memory. It houses objects characteristic of various eras that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the past and learn about the spirit, talent and hard work of Leshukonsky residents. The museum operates according to the standards of a state museum: exhibitions, educational activities and collection development are held regularly. Some of its collections deserve attention not only from local but also from nationwide audiences: painted decorations on Mezen wooden items, traditional Mezen costumes, and artefactual and documentary materials about the Leshukonsky konovals (traditional horse-doctors/veterinarians).
