Sol-Iletsk District Local History Museum
About museum
\r\nIn 1967, the first exhibits of the Sol-Iletsk museum were placed in the building of the district Komsomol committee. This marked the beginning of its formation. The credit goes to teacher Nina Aleksandrovna Krasovskaya, who taught children history and did everything possible to preserve the region's historical treasures for future generations. During perestroika the exhibits were moved to the library, and Valentina Alekseevna Smirnova not only collected them but also supplemented them with new items. On June 12, 2008, the museum moved into a new modern building. This was made possible thanks to active citizens of the region and city, local residents, benefactors and the administration. Today the Sol-Iletsk museum is the central place of the district's cultural life.
