About museum

In 1970 the building of the local history museum was constructed, and on June 9, 1972 the first exhibition was opened there. From the 1950s the process of assembling the museum's collections began deliberately, and in the 1960s and 1980s it became especially active. Today the holdings of the Yalutorovsk museum complex exceed 35,000 storage items. The museum building hosts the exhibition 'Yalutorovsk: Facets of History', dedicated to the history of the town and the region from its founding to the present. As part of the new project 'Closed Collections. Entry Allowed', collections of painting, sculpture, ceramics, glass, metal and wood are presented in open storage.
