Koptelovsky Museum of the History of Agriculture and Peasant Life
About museum
In the historic village of Koptelovo there is a unique museum that tells about the livelihood of peasants, their material and spiritual culture. The museum welcomed its first visitors at the end of October 1969. The museum's founder, Alexander Grigoryevich Potoskuev, collected antiques for more than 25 years. Under A.G. Potoskuev, in May 1984 the museum was awarded the title 'People's Museum'.
The museum complex conveys the atmosphere of rural labor and everyday life. The exhibits familiarize tourists in detail with various aspects of the lives of Ural peasants in different historical periods: a 17th-century izba (log house), an exhibition of agricultural implements from the late 19th - early 20th century, the exhibition 'Crafts and Commerce', the 'Smithy' exhibition, the Simeon chapel over the spring, the Ivan chapel, the artisans' homestead: cooperage, an exhibition of carpentry products, the pavilion 'Men's Crafts', the exhibition 'Wine Shop', and the Artist's House.
In the main museum building there are several halls telling the history of the village, displaying handicrafts, collections of clocks and radio equipment, as well as the Hall of Military Glory and the exhibition 'The 20th Century in the History of Koptelovo Village'
