Interactive Optical Center 'Lytkarino' with Planetarium and Observatory
About museum
Interactive Optical Center 'Lytkarino' (IOC 'Lytkarino') with a children's observatory and planetarium was opened in 2017 and is a partnership project of the Lytkarino Historical and Local Lore Museum and the Lytkarino Optical Glass Plant. It is a unique themed complex for educational activities, intellectual leisure, and career guidance for children and young people. All programs represent an integration of culture, education, science, and industry. The IOC 'Lytkarino' includes: the only museum of optical glass in Russia, the optical laboratory 'The Journey of Light in Optical Labyrinths', a children's observatory, and a planetarium. The optical center hosts tours, master classes, planetarium sessions, and themed events. The program 'A Schoolchildren's Journey into the World of Optics and Stars' was supported in 2022 by the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The optical center is located on the premises of an operating restricted enterprise; therefore tours are conducted only for organized groups of schoolchildren and students by prior appointment. The programs are developed by the 'Planetarium' department of the Lytkarino Historical and Local Lore Museum, which handles tour bookings and visitor services. Bookings and inquiries by phone: 8(495)-552-49-80 (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
