Kolomna Patefon
About museum
Kolomna is one of the oldest towns in the Moscow Region, with an 840-year history woven from remarkable events and facts, mysterious legends and tales. It was here that Prince Dmitry Donskoy was married, Marina Mnishek languished in captivity, and the royal palace of Ivan the Terrible once stood... and it was here, on the site of a former silk-spinning factory, that the Kolomna factory of portable gramophones was opened, and before long the Kolomna patefon had gained all‑Union fame and was not inferior to the products of any other gramophone factories in the country.

\r\nThe "Kolomna Patefon" Museum began its activities on May 1, 2017; this date was chosen deliberately, for it was on May 1, 1934 that the assembly of the first ten Kolomna patefons was completed in the repair‑mechanical and tool shops of the portable gramophone factory.
