Knyaginin District Local History People's Museum
About museum
At the Knyaginin Museum you can learn about the history of the Knyaginin land from the mid-16th century to the end of the 20th century. Thanks to a World War II veteran, a teacher at Knyaginin Secondary School, M. I. Bykov, and his fellow local history enthusiasts, the museum was opened to visitors in 1977. In 1993 it was granted 'People's' status. The museum's collection comprises more than 3,500 items in the main collection and over 2,500 items in the scientific and auxiliary collection. The displays include exhibitions dedicated to the Great Patriotic War (World War II), the nature of the native region, local industry and crafts, peasant life, Orthodoxy and other topics. Temporary exhibitions, master classes and tourist routes are also held.
