About museum

Kirovgrad Historical and Local Lore Museum was established in 1996 on the basis of the production museum of the Kirovgrad Copper Smelting Plant. The museum presents the history of the Kirovgrad Urban District from its earliest years to the present day; special attention in the museum's exhibitions is devoted to participants of the Great Patriotic War — residents of the Kirovgrad Urban District. The museum holds more than 20 exhibitions per year: painting exhibitions, decorative and applied arts, and themed exhibitions.
