In the center of the historic part of the town of Nikolsk there is a two-storey building of the A. Ya. Yashin Historical and Memorial Museum, which was opened in 1989 on the basis of two museums — a local history museum and a memorial museum. At present the museum includes three components: the building in Nikolsk, which houses the main local history and memorial exhibitions; the peasant household museum in the village of Bludnovo; and the historical and memorial complex of the writer A. Ya. Yashin on Bobrishny Ugor, which is a protected natural area and a regional comprehensive (landscape) state reserve.
