K. S. Petrov-Vodkin House Museum
About museum
In 1905 the Russian and Soviet artist K. S. Petrov-Vodkin, a native of Khvalynsk, bought a house built in 1896 for his parents. It belonged to his family until 1943. In 1994 a decision was made to establish a memorial house in Khvalynsk to commemorate the famous townsman. The modern house museum has preserved the atmosphere of the residence, as well as the outbuildings and the garden. It hosts an exhibition dedicated to the life and work of K. S. Petrov-Vodkin and his ties to his native city. The artist's works, memorial items, and photographs are on display. Master classes, seasonal holidays, and interactive programs are regularly held on the museum grounds.
