In May 1995 the Museum of the Mari Region and Medvedev Land was opened on the eve of the Great Victory. It presents information on the archaeology, history and culture of the region. Here you can see household items and tools from the 13th–19th centuries, as well as learn about the history of the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War. The Nature Corner displays representatives of the region's fauna, and the religious corner reflects the three main religions of the local people. The modern Alley of Glory tells about the present day. The museum has a large exhibition hall where events take place and exhibitions are displayed. In addition, the museum offers guided tours, lectures, educational programs, master classes and lessons on a variety of topics. Visitors can obtain a lot of interesting and useful information.
