The Bolsherechensky Local History Museum was founded in 1959 as a community local-history institution. Its core holdings originated from the personal collection of the writer and local historian V. S. Anoshin. The museum houses collections devoted to archaeology, paleontology, and ethnography. The museum's collections comprise more than 20,000 storage units in the main and research-supporting funds. It is a research and educational institution that preserves monuments and objects of material and spiritual culture. The museum holds exhibitions, research and educational events, and also organizes professional and educational tours.
