Founded in 1999, the Historical and Art Museum of the Elektrostal Urban District is part of the Municipal Institution "Museum and Exhibition Center." Here visitors can view photographs and documents about the city's history, learn about its founder N. A. Vtorov, and see objects of peasant and urban everyday life from the 20th century, as well as collections of decorative and applied arts of the Moscow Region, paintings and graphics by local artists. The hall for temporary exhibitions hosts shows from museums in Moscow, the Moscow Region and private collections. Interactive tours and children's folklore celebrations are also held here, as well as the open festival of folk traditions and folklore creativity "Living Antiquity." The museum offers an engaging program that allows visitors to learn as much as possible about the city's history and its inhabitants.
